'Life Moves Forward' - Steve Mahoney & The Mill Island Band's Latest Single is Out Today
Life Moves Forward is out today! This is the second single from the forthcoming album with The Mill Island Band. It’s a fun, uplifting tune that absolutely goes off live.
Lyrically, I wanted to tackle the heavy dose of nostalgia and the societal scapegoats constantly pushed on us—something I haven’t heard much of in modern songwriting. I’m quite proud of the narrative and the lyrics on this one.. I didn’t phone it in!
The track lived a few lives to get here. It started as a folk tune written in NYC (always hands me great melodies), then turned into a chuggy Springsteen thing for a minute. It finally found its place when the band had a great riff and groove that I put the song inside of, turning it into something that doesn’t sound like anything we’ve done before I’d say
